Lately, I've been researching the historical accuracy of and the history 'behind' the Biblical account of creation and early life on earth. This means examining for instance the Biblical account of Creation, the story of Noah's Flood and the story about the Tower of Babel.
The Babylonian Enuma Elish creation myth is a lot like the one in Genesis; the story of Noah's flood and ark is for instance also told in the Epic of Gilgamesh.
The story about the origins and birth of Sargon of Akkad has elements similar to the story of Moses; Enmerkar and the Lord of Aratta shares similarities with the account of the Tower of Babel and the confusion of language...

It is truly amazing how many confirmed facts and interesting theories one finds when one starts looking for them!
Today, I've got the Ebla Tablets for you.
These tablets have been dated to about 2300 - 2200 BCE and contain a wealth of information on society as it was at Ebla in Syria over four millennia ago. The tablets confirm the existence of cities of Biblical fame such as Jerusalem, Ashdod, Sodom and Gomorrah; give evidence proving that details about the story of Daniel are factually correct and much, much more.
We don't say (write) this enough, however our main purpose at What Makes People Tick? is to write about things we find of interest and hope that our readers - that is, YOU - find them interesting too and that you'll want to learn more about them. With that in mind, check out some of these links:
