Autism Speaks - New formula devised to improve accuracy of early screening for autism

Study Provides ‘Formula’ for Predicting Effects of Autism-linked Genes As the Autism Speaks website reported yesterday (25 May 2014), a new study provides insight into possible genetic reasons for autism. The study, published by Nature Genetics , "provides new insights into the unique ways genetic risk factors for autism are expressed in the brain,” according to Autism Speak's chief science officer Robert Ring. “This knowledge helps to lay the foundation for turning genetic discoveries into diagnostic tests that will detect autism earlier, and opens the door to the future personalization of medical or behavioral interventions in autism.” Source : Study Provides ‘Formula’ for Predicting Effects of Autism-linked Genes , Autism Speaks
