It is time for humans the world over to unite.
It is time for us to come together through the Internet, through Social Media and through Technology.
It is time for us to come together and collectively say NO.
It is time for us to come together and collectively say NO to war, NO to corruption, NO to consumerism, NO to living in a plastic-fantastic society, NO to intolerance and the spreading of misinformation, NO to governments not delivering on their promises, NO to religious intolerance, NO to discrimination, NO to rape, NO to torture, NO to inequality, NO to hunger, NO to living a life dedicated to the pursuit of material things and NO to one more person having to live in poverty or suffer for one more day.
It is time to come together, to collectively stand up for what matters and to tell those who care more for money and power than people and the planet that they need to WAKE UP before it is too late.
The internet, social media and instant global communication as we know them today did not exist thirty or forty or fifty years ago. The world is becoming smaller and smaller - and more and more interdependent - as a result of rapid technological advances and international trade as well as increasing transnational relations. We now depend very much on each other. In ancient times problems were mostly family-size, and they were naturally tackled at the family level, but the situation has changed. Today we are so interdependent, so closely interconnected with each other, that without a sense of universal responsibility, a feeling of universal brotherhood and sisterhood, and an understanding and belief that we really are part of one big human family, we cannot hope to overcome the dangers to our very existence - let alone bring about peace and happiness.
Things like climate change, rising sea levels, World War Three and - God forbid - possible nuclear attacks will not be limited to one region or one country. They will impact many regions and many countries. What one region or country does impacts another. What one region or country does not do impacts another just as much. The only way to make our world a better place for all beings is to work together towards a better present and a better future. The only we can do that is if all of us everywhere change our ways, change our thinking and change how we treat not just other humans but animals and the planet as well. If enough of us want to change the world, we can. It IS that simple. If my words reach just one person and that person manages to reach just one other person, the message spreads. Imagine my words reaching twenty people, fifty people, a hundred people. Imagine what might happen if all of those people decide that they too want a better future, one where people are united as one and war is a word no-one remembers the meaning of. And to illustrate my point, here's a quote from someone who is known to people all around the world. Have you ever thought about how true this actually is?

If everyone demanded peace
instead of another television set,
then there'd be peace
