Listing a stunning amount of figures, the article explains in percentages exactly what parts of their bodies women are most unhappy with. Tummies, muffin tops, breasts, hips, thighs... It seems that British women really don't like any part of their body when coupled with a bikini. The study asked a 1000 women a series of questions which resulted in some very interesting figures. For instance:
* 53% of women admit they hate the sight of themselves in a swimsuit so much that they would rather miss out on a sunshine break than strip off
* Just 1% claim to have no beach hang-ups at allSource: British women hate their bikini body so much they'd rather stay home, The Daily Mail Online
Am I the only one asking WHY for crying out loud women in Britain and the world over are buying into this idea that we need to "look good in a bikini"?
First - YOU decide what looks good and you should be deciding that based on how you feel when you wear certain clothing, NOT based on what others might think of you! If wearing a bikini makes you feel good, then by all means wear that bikini and enjoy it!
Second - If you don't like wearing a bikini or a swimsuit (for whatever reason) then why for the love of gorgeous shoes would you put yourself through that experience? Just wear whatever YOU feel comfortable with and don't let anyone tell you otherwise.
Third - The decision to take off most of your clothes and walk around in what amounts to as much (or as little) as underwear should be yours to make or refuse freely. If you don't feel comfortable taking your clothes off in front of strangers in daily life, then why should it suddenly be expected of you or be seen as 'normal' when on holiday, at the swimming pool or the beach?
Don't let others dictate how you feel about your own body and especially don't let something as small as a bikini ruin what could be an amazing sunshine break! If you need an excuse not to wear a bikini this summer, just think of all those other gorgeous clothes you own and image how good you feel when wearing them!
